WHY PRESS TOBACCO PELLETS?
Tobacco stem and tobacco dust are low-density and very light raw material, the loose and light-density fiber feature makes high cost for storage and transportation highly inefficient. Despite their lower value, the logistics costs often outweigh the material worth, which becomes a major issue for tobacco companies.
However, tobacco dust has unique advantages—it has fine particle size, low moisture content, and does not require additional drying or crushing process. It can be made into good density pellets directly, this reducing the equipment and operational investment greatly.
By compressing tobacco dust and stem into dense pellets, the volume is significantly reduced—up to 80% space saved—resulting in lower transport costs and easier handling. Currently, the market lacks pellet machines specifically designed for processing tobacco dust. Standard biomass machines often fail to handle the unique properties of fine, dry tobacco materials.
